Record Templates

The Dynotag System offers several purpose-built “Record Templates”, also called “Information Record Types”.

Depending on the physical tag you receive, one of these templates will be initially assigned to the tag – so you can get going quickly.

When you activate a new tag, you will be asked if you want to create a record with the default record type assigned to that tag. If you accept, a new record of that type will be created and the currently activated tag will be linked to it. The “Record Type” list varies based on the Smart ID Product at hand. Property Smart IDs cannot create a Medical ID, for instance. The example below shows a Medical ID tag getting activated, so it can create a record of type “Medical’ or any of the listed record types.

You will also have to assign a relevant record title for the new record. For a Medical ID record, it can be the name of the person, such as “John Doe”.

Once an information record of a certain type is created, other Smart ID tags compatible type can link to it as well. This serves to increase redundancy – as the information in the record can be accessed via any of the linked tags.

For example, pet tags have the default record type of “Pet” assigned – so, upon activation, they will offer to create a new Pet information record and link to it. Alternatively, if you want to set up a second Pet Tag for your pup “Fido”, who already has a Pet tag named “Fido’s Smart Pet ID” – you can choose NOT to create a new Pet ID record – and link the newly activated pet tag to Fido’s existing Pet ID record…

Once a tag is linked to an information record, it is committed to that record – until it is manually unlinked from that information record, using the “Tag Dashboard”. You can access a tag’s dashboard by clicking the gray “Tag ID” button from “My Records” screen.

Unlinked tags stay in the account, but are displayed in the “Unlinked Tags” section on top of the “My Records” screen. Clicking on on one of these, you can either create a new information record of the tag’s current type, or link the tag to one of the existing records of the currently selected type.

Note that not all tags can connect to all record types. For example, Medical ID records can only be connected to by Medical ID tags that are purpose designed for Emergency ID applications.

Every “Record Type” has its own specific “Data Panel” containing information sections relevant for that type.

Available record types are:
